Senior Cyber Scam Stopper Workshop via Zoom

In partnership with the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office and the California Highway Patrol Office in Alameda County

-

Dear Neighbor,

The U.S. Department of Justice reports that seniors lose $3 billion to scammers every year. I am committed to keeping our communities safe for everyone, including protecting our senior residents from scams. According to senior scams statistics compiled by the American Journal of Public Health, about 5% of seniors become victims of fraudulent schemes every year. While these statistics are startling, the true number is believed to be much higher, because it is estimated that 85% of cybercrime and cyberfraud go unreported.

With that in mind, I invite you to join us on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021, for a free Senior Cyber Scam Stopper Workshop, in partnership with the Contra Costa District Attorney's Office and the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department. This will be a great opportunity to learn tips on how to protect yourself and your personal information from scams perpetrated online, via text, or via phone.

This workshop will be delivered via Zoom with an option to dial in by phone to listen. Please share this information with your friends and family.

Deadline to RSVP is 8pm, Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021
