Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan Legislative Update

On June 27, 2019 at the Town Council meeting, Assemblymember Bauer-Kahan shared information on the bills that she has been working on which include nine bills that have made it to the Senate. These bills focus on protecting children, victims of human trafficking, individuals with food allergies, the environment, reducing costs in the criminal justice system, and prioritizing transportation projects and ensuring they are affordable.

Tammy Ma named ‘Woman of the Year’

Tammy Ma, an experimental plasma physicist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), has been named Woman of the Year for the 16th Assembly District by Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan.

First-year Assemblywoman Rebecca Bauer-Kahan (D-Orinda) passed her first two bills out of the Judiciary and Human Services committees so far this legislative session. Assembly bills 1735 and 807 received wide bipartisan support and unanimous approval.

Bauer-Kahan said in a statement that she was "thrilled to have the support of my colleagues from both sides of the aisle" on protecting human trafficking victims and giving low-income students greater access to higher education.
