The Office of Assemblymember Bauer-Kahan (Assembly District 16) is seeking interns for the Spring of 2025.
Thank you for your interest in an internship with the District Office of California State Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan. The emphasis of the internship will be on community outreach, event planning and the legislative process. The window to submit a Spring internship application will open on November 1, 2024 at 12:01am and will close on November 30, 2024 at 11:59pm.
We are looking for collaborative, inclusive individuals who are eager to learn and apply the skills necessary to work in a legislator’s district office including – working with constituents and community stakeholder groups, researching and writing legislative memos, conducting community outreach efforts, managing casework, working with databases, organizing civic events, and staffing the district office. Internships are open to college students interested in learning about working in a state legislator’s office. Internships with the Assembly District Office are for eight (8) weeks. The Spring internship program will begin January 27, 2025 and conclude on March 21, 2025.

Spring interns commit to spending approximately 10 hours per week as an intern for the district office. We will work with you to arrange your work schedule around your class schedule. Interns will be paid an hourly rate of $20.00 per hour.

A cover letter, resume, and writing sample must also be attached in order for your application to be considered complete. We must receive them by the November 30 deadline. In addition, all finalists selected for an interview will be tasked with a brief research and writing exercise.
