The Office of Assemblymember Bauer-Kahan (Assembly District 16) is seeking interns for the Spring of 2026.

Thank you for your interest in an internship with the California State Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan in the District Office located in San Ramon, CA. The emphasis of the internship will be on community outreach, event planning and the legislative process. The window to submit a Spring internship application will open on November 1, 2025 at 12:01am and will close on November 30, 2025 at 11:59pm.

We are looking for collaborative, inclusive individuals who are eager to learn and apply the skills necessary to work in a legislator’s district office including – working with constituents and community stakeholder groups, researching and writing legislative memos, conducting community outreach efforts, managing casework, working with databases, organizing civic events, and staffing the district office.

Internships are open to college students interested in learning about working in a state legislator’s district office. Internships with the Assembly District Office are for eight (8) weeks and are fully in-person. The Spring internship program will begin Monday, January 26, 2026 and conclude on Friday, March 20, 2026. Interns will be paid an hourly rate of $20.00 per hour, and will be offered additional unpaid volunteer opportunities outside of the paid intern hours.

Internship Applications and Qualifications: If you have previously applied, we ask that you submit a new application as your circumstances may have changed; please use the web form below to apply. Spring interns commit to spending 6 hours per week as an intern for the district office. Intern hours will be scheduled between 10am and 4pm on a minimum of two different days between Monday and Thursday. We will work with you to arrange your work schedule around your class schedule. Interns must be over 18 and enrolled in a college or university. If you are not able to meet all of these requirements, we encourage you to apply in a future cycle. We run our internship program 3 times each year.
