10:00am - 12:00pm

Over the last 5 months, since Shelter in Place started, my office has hosted dozens of Virtual Office Hours events, serving hundreds of constituents. In serving constituents, one thing has been made abundantly clear—the Employment Development Department has failed to process claims in a timely manner causing people immense stress and financial uncertainty. The level of customer service has been inadequate and the underlying technology and bureaucracy is failing Californians. I am committed to holding EDD accountable and fighting for meaningful reforms to get unemployment insurance benefits to those who need it most.
While I work with my colleagues to find solutions to EDD’s ongoing failures, I am proud to continue providing constituents with opportunities to meet with my staff during our Virtual Office Hours. If you haven’t already attended one, you can connect directly with my staff and have a chance to get linked to resources, share your concerns, and receive help with state agencies, such as the EDD and DMV. Information about how to access the Zoom will be sent to those who RSVP.
